To commemorate Tommi Makinen's world record breaking fourth World Championship in a row Mitsubushi launched a special edition of the Lancer EVO VI. Specially designed to closely resemble Makinen's own Group A Lancer, this special edition EVO VI has been tuned and set up for optimum performance on any surface.

Compared to the standard Evo VI, the Makinen special edition got an angrier-looking bespoke front bumper, 17-inch white Enkei wheels and a leather MOMO steering wheel and gear knob.
Red and black Recaro bucket seats featured, embossed with ‘T. Makinen Edition’, along with a quicker steering ratio, 10mm lower ride height and a titanium turbocharger turbine which spooled up faster than the regular model.

The Tommi Makinen Evo 6 was powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit, which produced 276bhp, and propelled it from 0-60 in just 4.5 seconds. Its top speed is 150mph. What else stands out about the Makinen-inspired Evo, is how light it is compared to the most recent Evo X. It weighs only 1365 kg, and this is really noticeable on B-roads

Exterior
Garaged all of its life and never used in the rain, it really has been cherished and meticulously maintained by its owners. Immaculate bodywork- has an amazing gloss to the paintwork, in stunning condition extremely rare to see a beautiful example like this.

Interior
Very clean with no wear or tear to the carpet, plastic trims or leather gaiters or seats. It retains the original factory steering wheel and shift knob which is a real testament to the low mileage the car has done. The seats still have the dark factory fresh colour and the fabric is still soft to the touch! The seats really look/feel like they have hardly ever been sat in and even still retains the factory stereo.

It’s not just exceptionally clean on top, underneath has to be seen to be appreciated- quite hard to believe this cult classic is 17 years old as the condition puts most new cars to shame! Just check out the pics and you will understand. It’s not far off how it would have rolled out from the factory; seals are original and the rear arches/boot are in immaculate rust-free condition.

Sourcing low km rare JDM examples like this is like finding a needle in a hay stack. Overall if you are after a truly cherished example to enjoy yourself, to be part of a collection or as an investment look no further
