HJA is delighted to present this gorgeous Mazda RX-7 Type RS, featuring a complete and detailed Mazda/Rotary specialist service history throughout its life in Japan. Boasting a Japanese Auction grade of 4, and adorned in its original A3F Brilliant Black factory paintwork, this RX-7 is a true gem for enthusiasts and collectors alike.

What sets the Mazda RX-7 Type RS apart?

This high-performance variant, the "Type RS," includes Bilstein suspension and 17-inch wheels as standard, paired with a reduced weight of just 1,280 kg (2,822 lb). Power is enhanced with less restrictive mufflers and improved turbochargers, featuring abradable compressor seals, delivering 280 PS (206 kW; 276 hp) at 6,500 rpm and 314 N⋅m (232 lb⋅ft) of torque at 5,000 rpm, in accordance with Japanese regulations.

The Type RS is equipped with upgraded brakes, enlarging rotor diameters front and rear to 314 mm (12.4 in) and increasing front rotor thickness from 22 mm (0.9 in) to 32 mm (1.3 in). A 4.30 final drive ratio significantly reduces its 0–100 km/h (62 mph) time, while modifications to the gearbox include a longer 5th gear for improved fuel efficiency during cruising.

Reflecting its excellent history, the body exhibits no evidence of past accidents. Our paint thickness measurements affirm the vehicle's accident-free state, confirming the Japanese auction grade 4 status, with the metal panels maintaining exact adherence to factory specifications.

Enhancing its allure, the car features aftermarket Enkei wheels paired with modern Carbon fibre side skirts, striking a perfect balance between classic style and contemporary aesthetics.

The car presents beautifully, with a chassis that is remarkably rust-free. The engine starts effortlessly and runs smoothly in all conditions, indicating excellent health as confirmed by a recent compression test.

Step into the preserved interior of this Mazda RX-7 Type RS, where you'll find minimal wear and a factory-fresh ambiance that speaks to its meticulous upkeep. Remarkably, amidst modern upgrades like the stereo and Defi gauges, the original steering wheel, shift knob, and even the floor mats have been preserved, offering a true glimpse into its authentic heritage.

As prices surge, particularly in Japan, finding a meticulously maintained RX-7 is becoming a daunting task. Hence, this exemplary model stands out as a highly prized acquisition for collectors and drivers alike, offering exhilarating performance and a promising opportunity for investment.
