HJA are delighted to present another unicorn from the golden era of Japanese performance — the legendary Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Tommi Makinen Edition, finished in the iconic Passion Red with the ultra-rare Special Colour Pack (SCP). Quite simply, this is the Evo to have. If you're after the most desirable classic-shape Lancer ever made, this is the one that ticks every box.

A Rally Legend Reborn
Built to commemorate Tommi Makinen’s unprecedented four consecutive WRC championship titles, Mitsubishi created a very special variant of the Evo VI — one that not only paid homage to its motorsport pedigree visually, but was honed for even greater performance on the road and stage. This isn’t just an Evo VI with a badge; it’s a genuine evolution of the breed.
Special Colour Pack – WRC DNA in Every Detail
The SCP package, designed to closely resemble Mitsubishi’s Group A works rally cars, includes factory WRC-inspired detailing such as the iconic stripe livery, Ralliart decals, Mitsubishi 3-diamond logo on the spoiler ends, and body-coloured door sashes. The rear spoiler’s upper blade is finished in white to match the competition cars, while amber indicator lenses and black door handles complete the look.
You’ll know you’ve found the real deal when you spot the “SNGF2” model code on the chassis plate – Mitsubishi’s own way of verifying these sought-after editions.
Tuned for the Road and the Stage
Of course, the Tommi Makinen Edition wasn’t all about aesthetics. Mitsubishi gave it a revised front bumper for better airflow and a more aggressive presence, along with a titanium-bladed turbocharger that spools quicker than the standard unit. The steering rack was made quicker for sharper turn-in, and the suspension ride height was dropped by 10mm to bring the car closer to the tarmac.
It came with lightweight white Enkei wheels, and inside, red-and-black Recaro bucket seats proudly embroidered with “T. Makinen Edition,” alongside a factory MOMO leather steering wheel and gear knob. Everything about this car was designed to make it more agile, more responsive, and more connected to the road beneath you.

Performance That Still Thrills
Under the bonnet sits the legendary 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, producing 276bhp and good for 0–60mph in just 4.5 seconds. What really makes this car stand out is its kerb weight — just 1365kg — which gives it a nimbleness modern performance cars can only dream of. On tight and twisty B-roads, the Tommi Makinen Evo is still one of the most engaging driver’s cars of any era.
Collector-Grade Condition Throughout
This particular example is, quite simply, one of the finest we’ve seen. It has been garaged its entire life, never driven in the rain, and meticulously maintained by fastidious owners. The bodywork is immaculate, with a deep, glossy shine to the paint and no signs of ageing or wear — extremely rare to see in a car of this vintage.

The interior is equally impressive, retaining all of its original factory features. The seats still have that rich, dark finish to the fabric, the stitching is tight, and the bolsters look barely used. The factory stereo is still in place, and there’s no wear to the carpet, leather gaiters, or interior plastics — a true testament to the low mileage and careful ownership.
As Clean Underneath as It Is on Top
And it’s not just clean up top. The underside of the car is remarkable — completely rust-free and in outstanding original condition. The factory seam sealer is still present, the boot floor and arches are immaculate, and everything looks as if it rolled out of the showroom just yesterday. This level of preservation is almost unheard of and must be seen to be fully appreciated.
The Ultimate Evo VI
Finding a low-kilometre, SCP-coded Tommi Makinen Edition in this condition is like finding a needle in a haystack. Whether you’re looking for a show-stopping addition to your collection, a blue-chip investment, or just one of the most thrilling driver’s cars of its generation — this is the one.
