HJA bring you this super rare Le Mans Edition Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R. There were several limited editions of the BCNR33 produced by NISMO (Nissan's Motorsport division). The first, the LM version, was released in May 1996 to celebrate Nissan's participation in the 24-hours of Le Mans. Nissan released just 188 of this model to the Japanese market.

Based on the R33 GT-R, the LM Limited isn’t to be confused with the R33 GT-R LM. It should be; the names are almost identical. Anyway. The LM (not limited) was a one-off built for homologation so Nissan could go racing in the GT1 class at Le Mans.

Only 188 examples of the LM Limited were produced from May 1996. Eighty six of these wore the standard GT-R badge and the remaining 102 were built on V-Spec models.

The only body colour available for the R33 LM was Champion Blue (BT2). The car had a hood-splitter lip to direct air to the upper front aperture, the "GT-R Skyline" logo under the chequered flag was placed on the C-pillars, carbon rear spoiler blade amongst other additions.

Nissan entered two R33 GT-R cars in the 1995 Le Mans 24 hour race where the number 22 car finished tenth overall. This was remarkable considering it was essentially running the same RB26 motor and going up against supercars of that era like the mighty Mclaren F1 GTR.

As we have now seen the R33 400R deep into the 7 figures, collectors are now looking to the next big thing. Due to the rarity of the LM edition it’s been added to many collectors wish lists.

This particular example was purchased from USS Nagoya and was graded 4.5 and has only covered a staggering 38,000km from new. We believe this is one of the highest grade/lowest kms LM’s out there let alone for sale.

The car is in outstanding condition, the paint work is all original (checked with a paint meter) the interior hardly looks used and everything feels factory fresh.

It’s not just exceptionally clean on top, underneath is also rust free and doesn’t have the usual jacking damage on the seals. Another point to note is just how clean it is under the rear arches, spare wheel and strut tops, those that are familiar with R33’s will know these are usually problem areas for so many.

The GT-R Brand is now extremely sought after worldwide, and is considered the hottest thing in the burgeoning classic and performance car market.

Sourcing limited edition examples like this is like finding a needle in a hay stack especially in this condition. Overall if you are after a cherished example to enjoy yourself, to be part of a collection or as a great investment look no further.
