HJA are excited to offer this exceptional Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR GSR, a Grade 4 example built to a very serious specification by Kondo Engineering in Japan.
Although the specification is extremely serious, the car has been built with real road use in mind. Our team in Japan have driven it and came away very impressed, reporting that it feels tight, responsive and drives like a new car. It is a proper full street car first and foremost, with more than enough engine, chassis, braking and aero specification for occasional track use if the next owner wishes.
[Built By Kondo Engineering]
Kondo Engineering are a respected Japanese tuning shop known for engine builds, ECU setting, original parts and high-level performance car preparation. Led by Shuichi Kondo, formerly of JUN Auto Mechanic, the company has a strong background in serious demo-car and high-power engine development.
[A Serious Kondo Engineering Build]
The engine is a Kondo Engineering built 2.2L 4G63 using a TOMEI stroker kit, forged pistons, forged H-section rods, forged full-counter crankshaft, JUN 272 cams, JUN valve springs, JUN titanium retainers, TODA cam pulleys, TODA timing belt and a NAPREC High Response cylinder head package.
The turbo setup consists of an HKS GT3037, HKS exhaust manifold, HKS external wastegate. Supporting parts include SARD 850cc injectors, SARD collector tank, SARD 265L fuel pump, HKS intercooler, HKS oil cooler, APEXi aluminium radiator and an Unlimited Works 90mm full titanium exhaust.
[Strengthened 5-Speed, Brembo F50 & Voltex Aero]
The drivetrain has been properly upgraded with an Evo VI 5-speed gearbox conversion, WPC-treated gears, WPC-treated main shaft and synchronisers, ATS carbon twin-plate clutch, ATS lightweight flywheel, 4.111 final gear and Cusco Type RS front LSD.
Handling is taken care of by Kondo Engineering coilovers with rear separate tanks, Bestex springs, Kansai Service geometry parts, Cusco stabilisers and additional chassis bracing.
Braking is handled by Brembo F50 front calipers with RDD 343mm front discs, genuine Brembo rear calipers, RDD 320mm rear discs, braided lines and Winmax AC3 pads.
The exterior features a full Voltex aero package, including front bumper, rear overfenders, circuit front under-wing, double canards, side steps, Type V carbon GT wing and rear under-tray. It also has Voltex front wide fenders, Evo IX rear bumper, Varis carbon bonnet, CraftSquare mirrors and a genuine optional vortex generator.
